Groundbreaking for classroom addition to Hartland Lutheran

The members of Hartland Ev. Lutheran Church broke ground for a new addition to be located on the North side of the present worship facility. The Rev. Dennis Schmidt led the worshipers in a groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday, April 24th. Several officers of the congregation, members of the Ladies Aid and youth group turned over the first shovels of dirt, along with the two contractors, Matt and Chad Staloch. Also participating in the groundbreaking ceremony were Peter Erickson, age 95, representing the senior members and Noah and Jaxson Nielsen who are two of the youngest members at ages 5 and 4.

The addition will include an enclosed “lift” to make the entire facility handicapped accessible. The two-story building will include three classrooms, a conference room, a pastor’s office and storage areas.
The entire congregation is very excited about moving forward to expand the Lord’s worship facility to further meet the needs of the Hartland community and surrounding area. Construction work is scheduled to begin on May 16th, weather permitting.
